Born on April 19, 1972 in Kolhapur, Dr. Sachin Jagtap began his flute journey at the age of 25, guided by great Gurus like Pandit Harishchandra Kokre, Pandit Nityanand Haldipur, and Surmani Praveen Godkhindi. Despite coming from a non-musical family, his passion and dedication made him one of the renowned flute players of Maharashtra.
Dr. Jagtap is the only and first student in India to receive the direct “Sangeet Alankar” degree and secure First Rank in All India in Classical Flute, along with standing First in M.A. (Music) at Shivaji University. He is a B. High grade artist of All India Radio.
Academically, he holds multiple qualifications – M.C.A., M.B.A, M.Phil, Ph.D, C.I.N, D.I.M, F.D.P from reputed institutes like IIMK, IIMB, IIMI, and IIT, making him the highest qualified artist in India.
His musical versatility extends beyond classical music – he studied light music under Padma Bhushan Srinivasa Khale and Padma Vibhushan Pyarelal Sharma, and learned Bollywood film notation from Shyamkant Paranjpe and Suzanne (Germany).
As the first Music Therapist in Western Maharashtra, Dr. Jagtap has given free treatment to 462 patients, including curing 16 coma patients. He continues this noble work while serving as an Assistant Professor, teaching MBA and M.Sc. courses in Information Systems for the past 23 years.
